Taylor Edwards in a California girl living her dream in Nashville, Tennessee. The 22 year old made the move in 2012 to further her artistry as well as study songwriting at Belmont University where country stars such as Lee Ann Womack, Trisha Yearwood, Minnie Pearl, and many others have attended. In March of 2015, Taylor was featured on the CW’s “Hart of Dixie” with her version of Sugarland’s “Little Miss” rounding out the series finale of the show. Taylor was also the first winner of the Grammy U #SongwritingShowdown, with over 100 songs entered, her song “Play Ya” earned her the opening spot at Nashville’s Grammy Block Party featuring acts Hunter Hayes, Lee Ann Womack, and Meghan Trainor. She was also on CMA Music Festival’s center stage at Bridgestone’s Visitor's center last year! Tay writes her own songs, which is such a great art work in country music these days. I write songs myself, so I know how much time and effort goes into it, and I am so thankful for Twitter because it introduces me to singer/songwriters such as Taylor. Her song "Young at Heart" gets me every time, I listen to it because it reminds me of the relationship I have with my mother and I love it! If it was playing on the radio I would turn it up and sing my heart out because it's that relatable and her voice is just so good it flows with the music! Her other songs "Play Ya" and "California Time" are both incredibly written. I think any girl can relate to "Play Ya" because you have either been through being played or know someone that has. With "California Time" you can jam out to it even if you aren't from Cali, because it has that flow that makes you want to move! "Pillow Talk" and "Basics" slow down the mood again with some heartfelt lyrics involving a boy, whereas you want him to figure out what he actually wants in your relationship (you can also relate to this if you aren't actually dating the boy as well.) The point is, you can feel all of the emotions within each song she has written, and not to mention (again) that her voice is kind of soulful and reminds me of Danielle Bradbery and Cassadee Pope combined! Who knows, maybe she'll be the next Lee Ann Womack?
