When you hear these words, "And the winner of season three of the voice is *dramatic pause* Cassadee Pope!" you automatically think, "man that girl can sing!" I have personally been a fan of Cassadee since she won season three of The Voice (go Team Blake!) and all of America watched her grow into this girl with a dream into an amazing artist. After winning The Voice Cassadee released her first country single, "Wasting All These Tears" and sold 125,000 copies the first week released in 2013. Since then she has toured with Rascal Flatts, Dierks Bently, and Tim McGraw, she has also performed the National Anthem at the Brickyard 400, in 2014 AND won breakthrough video of the year at the CMT Awards! She released another single from her album "Frame By Frame" this is an amazing song for women. I believe every girl has been through this and lived through these words.
"I wish I could break your heart I wish I could bring you down Just for a second teach you a lesson About being alone in the dark I wish I could make you cry So hard you can barely breathe Maybe you just might know what it feels like Mmm, to be me" It's so heartfelt and emotional, aaaand I wish I could write a song like this! Cassadee now has a new single called "I am Invincible" and it is so amazing, y'all! I feel like all of her singles are so empowerful for us women! I for one am so happy that we have women like her in country music! She's so classy, inspiring, and sings what we're all feeling and thinking! I loveeeeee Cass, and I am so excited for her future and her next album! In the meantime y'all go take a listen to her "Frame By Frame" album! Reasons why Sam Hunt is a country music artist despite what #haters say and why you should agree with me.
1) He sings about real life. People say Sam Hunt is more pop than anything because of his music, but my question is did you listen to the lyrics, honestly? People judge his music with the instruments played but if he's talking about real life, real things real people go through doesn't it just make him sound better? Here's an example, his amazing, amazing, real life song "Ex to See" doesn't have your typical country sound (banjo, fiddle, etc.) but I for one connect to this song. Not the exact situation happened to me, but it reminded me of a situation similar. That is what country music is about. Period. Connecting with the artist. Here are some of the lyrics incase you don't know this song, "Well there ain't enough smoke in my eyes To hide the kinda games you're trying to play Honey don't you act so surprised You know exactly what I'm bout to say You kiss my lips, like you mean it But you ain't that slick" Chorus: Everywhere we go you keep looking around Fixing your make up like its about to go down And he walks in, it all makes sense Suddenly you're climbing all up next to me, next to me I ain't no fool, you rascal you You don't want me, you just want your ex to see, ex to see Woahh woahhh woahh ohhh" I literally could have posted this whole song, and made you read it. I don't understand how people can judge him with just the instrumentals in his songs, look up the song, read it to yourself, you'll see how much you relate to it. 2) Because he doesn't care what other people think I don't think I have seen Sam comment back to any hater at all on social media, like ever. In an interview he did with Country Weekly he said, "Just because my sound doesn't sound like the people who have come before me doesn't mean I'm not educated and not appreciative and respectful toward all of those artists." He goes one to he sings about country lifestyle in his songs and his songs are truthful. [MIC DROP] That just goes on to say he knows he is country music and doesn't care what all you haters have to say. [MIC DROP AGAIN] 3) His roots Sam Hunt was born and raised in Georgia, he played football, he hunts, fishes, and does country boy stuff. Not like any of that truly matters, I just wanted to put that out there. Before you go saying he doesn't or never has done any of that stuff, you need to get your facts straight. But Sam probs doesn't care if you think he's actually a country boy if you aren't even a fan of his music 4) Southern charm He took his mother to the ACM Awards show, he's mama's boy and what's wrong with that? His persona is just so amazing, I see the way he treats his fans, he wouldn't have any if he wasn't charming and nice. What gives him even more charm is that he doesn't even realize how attractive he is, yeah I said it, ladies and gentlemen. Sam Hunt doesn't use his good looks to get people to like him, he wants people to like him for his music. I just can't deal you guys, an extremely attractive, talented, charming, country boy is not cocky. That's my favorite kind. 5) He dresses like he wants to I mean have y'all seen how this country boy from Georgia dresses?! Why even raise concern? Just why? I mean look at him! He wears plaid, boots, collard shirts, t-shirts, camo, what does it matter? Honestly, he dresses better than most people do anyways. At least he'll show everybody his style instead of hiding it. Also many country music artists have started new trends, ever heard of outlaws? |
