To be honest I have never heard of Brothers Osborne until this year, and I don't have a clue why... All of there songs are so good, their voices together just make me melt, and when they come on the radio it's different that what you're hearing right now. Both of their voices have that deep, sexy, drawing appeal and it seems like you don't hear those deep voices on the radio. I've heard their songs, but my favorite is their most current, "Stay A Little Longer". I know what you're thinking, it's about two people wanting to be together, of course you love this song Jess... well in my opinion this song is different than other "love" songs. It's about this guy who tries to tell himself that he is NOT in love with this girl, but he just craves her and wants her, and wants her to stay... most songs are about a typical love story. What song on county radio right now is like this one? None. Everything about this song and these brothers are different, different vocal range, different style, different story line, period. I'm so excited they're working on an album right now because I cannot get enough of these guys, and if their music is gonna sound like this... of course I'm gonna fall in love with the whole album! I mean they have songs released right now that are wonderful if y'all want to check them out... and I hope I'm not the only one who listens to "Stay A Little Longer" on repeat, it's just so good! These guys deserve more radio time than they get! I can't wait for their album to come out and go #1 the first week! I'm telling you, these guys have something different that what's on the radio now, no stereotypical sound, look, no wondering if they're 'bro country" (which is a stupid term to label great artists!), they're two brothers who make great music! America first saw and fell in love with this Mississippi girl on American Idol, season 11, when she sang "Hell On Heels" by Pistol Annies. It was for sure when she opened her mouth and started singing she was 100% headed to Hollywood week, and of course she did with a yes from all three judges! Skylar made it all the way to the final 5 on American Idol, but in my opinion she could've won the whole thing! Fast forward three years later Skylar Laine now has an amazing album (which you can buy on iTunes!!!!) called "Dirt Covered Lace"! First I before I get into her music I want to talk about what a nice person she is. I first met Skylar last year walking around by herself in Nashville, TN. I was just walking along with my mom when out of the blue I see Skylar freaking Laine with her, then newly, red hair! I just walked up to her and asked, "Are you Skylar?!", and turns out it was! She was so nice and sweet to us, taking her personal time to stop and talk to fans, she even took a picture of us on BOTH our phones, and followed me om social media! (and still does!) I was in shock when I met her, but I was more in shock more people weren't coming up to her! I'm like people do you know who that is? One of the best people to make it on American Idol, one of the top 5 on there!?! I was surprised, I actually told her I was baffled to why she didn't have a record deal already, but after meeting her I realized how tough it is to be an artist, and live in such a huge place with so much talent. I mean there is no denying that girl can sing like no other, so I wished her the best, and was hoping she'd get some music out soon! Now a year later I get to meet her again (along with her fiance!) and it seems like some things have turned around for her, she has this awesome new CD, "Dirt Covered Lace" on iTunes with 5 stars, she sounds better than ever! She reminds me of Miranda Lambert in two ways, one lets be honest... they're both a bad a** and two her voice sounds kind of like Miranda's, after all she did cover "Hell On Heels" by Miranda's band! Anyways, y'all should go and buy her album today! My personal favorite is "Settle Down"! Her music what county music needs from its female artists! Her songs are relatable, raw, and real. I for one love Skylar Laine's music, her personality, and how she treats her fans! I would love to see her in concert and hope to soon! I also love how she is a song-writer, there are a lot of songwriters in Nashville, so it's a hard competition, but the songs on her album are just so good words can't describe. Girls, let's just say they're relatable, weather you're a free spirit, or trying to find your way home. So to end it I want to thank Skylar for always being so kind to her fans even if shes spending time with herself, or with others, and I'm so happy for you girl! Getting this album put together while going through family events! I admire your songwriting, and hope to write with you one day and if you're ever in need of a photo-shoot, you know my twitter! Follow her on Twitter and Instagram @Skylar_Laine Facebook: Skylar Laine Website: Skylarlaine.com Waterloo Revival duo consists of long-time friends Cody Cooper and George Birge. The two both grew up in Austin, Texas and became friends in middle school, they started writing songs together. Fast forward to graduation, Cody set of to Denton for college, while George stayed in their hometown of Austin. The two remained friends throughout college and the distance, after graduating college they both had jobs, but George knew something wasn't right, and convinced Cody to come back home and peruse their music. By the year 2012, Waterloo Revival was born! I bet you're wondering how they got the name Waterloo Revival, well before Austin, Texas was called Austin it was Waterloo, Texas! Now that you know about Waterloo Revival, and some of their background, let's talk about where they are today. In 2013 the guys raised enough money to create a EP of their own, with five songs. They now have two singles, "Hit The Road" which I LOVE, and "Bad For You" and I love this song as well! I haven't seen them play live yet, but I've seen videos on YouTube that makes me wish I have! (Come to Chattanoooooga!) These guys just light up the stage when they're up there, you can see the passion they have with the energy, and smiles on their faces! They know how to work the stage and interact with the crowd. I actually got the chance to meet these guys last month, they are so nice, and so sweet. They know without the fans support, they'd just be two guys singing for themselves! They really love meeting fans, in my opinion, and just having a quick conversation! Their singles are both upbeat, and the vocals are really amazing, they're harmonies are just really great! These guys are just super talented, I hope to see them nominated for a CMT Award one day, and with fan support... it can happen! This is Waterloo Revival! Twitter: @WaterlooRev Facebook: Waterloo Revival Instagram: WaterloorRevival Website: Waterloorevival.com YouTube Video for "Hit The Road" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaA0iiXB0gk) Mitch Goudy is 20 year old, country newcomer from rural Iowa! Mitch has one of those small-town boy manners and charm. When he sings his songs it's like what he thinks country music is, it's not "bro-country" but at the same time it's not old country... he's making his own marks in country with his unique songs and voice. I first found out about Mitch in 2014, like Chris Rogers, Mitch had followed me on Twitter and asked if I was a country music fan. Everyone knows how much I love country music, so I told him yes! He told me about how he was a new artists with some songs out on iTunes and on his website. I went to check out his music, and I have to say one of my favorites is, "My Girl's Hand". This is a very sweet ballad for Mitch, to sum up the song it's about a guy who has the girl he once had, and isn't over, and he sees him holding his girls hand... hence the title! Another ballad that I really like is "That Ain't Love:. I can't really compare Mitch's voice to anyone particular, which is a good thing to me, artists should have their own sound and mix with country music! Actually his voice does kind of remind me of Colton from The Swan Brothers mixed with a little Chase Bryant, but like I said, his voice is unique from other artists! I really like this guy y'all! He is so sweet to his fans, he's nice, funny, and so cute! He is really someone you could talk to for hours, and then go home and listen to his music! As I said a year ago I just followed him back on Twitter, but now... I've come to enjoy his music, and how he treats fans. To me he treats fans like friends, I've "known" him for two years now, and I don't see him much but if I know he's around I always want to stop by and say hi, and chat for a while! I haven't seen him play live (again, come visit me and my town!) but I know I would go with my best friend along side! So if you wanna check out a new country artist with a fresh, different, but good sound, check out Mitch Goudy! Oh and if you see him tweet #Rowdie or #Rowdies he's talking about his fans, you can sign up on his website (listed below) and sign up for free to become a Rowdie! His CD's are also on his website if you want to check out his music! Follow him on Twitter @mitchgoudy Instagram @mitchgoudy Facebook: Mitch Goudy Go to MitchGoudy.com and become a "Rowdie"! |
