I can't believe I get to write this blog, I have been a fan of Billy Currington since 2003, when his first single "Walk A Little Straighter" was shown on CMT. "Walk a Little Straighter" went on to peak at No. 8 that year on the Hot Country Songs chart and established Currington as a major country performer in Nashville. Since then Billy has captured many fans with his sultry voice and charming personality. His second single, "I Got a Feelin'", also from his debut album hit the top 5 on the country charts. Billy's third consecutive top 10 hit was with superstar Shania Twain in late 2004, with "Party for Two". In 2005, he released a second album entitled Doin' Somethin' Right, which peaked at No. 2 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard 200. Billy's first number one song was the sultry "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right", which came from his second album. Another single from Doin' Somethin' Right called "Why, Why, Why" landed at No. 13 on the charts. Billy's second number one "Good Directions" was Co-written by Capitol Records artist Luke Bryan. "Good Directions" was the number 2 country song of 2007 according to the Billboard Year-End charts. Doin' Somethin' Right is certified platinum by the RIAA. Doin' Somethin' Right also featured "Lucille" which was a song Billy covered from original artist Kenny Rogers. His 2007 single, "Tangled Up", peaked on the charts in the top 30. His first single from his third studio album, Little Bit of Everything, "Don't" peaked at number 2 on the country charts in early 2009. "People Are Crazy" was released as the second single from the album in March 2009 and this became his third number one hit in July 2009. His third single, "That's How Country Boys Roll" became his fourth number one hit in 2010, and was the first song Billy shared writing credit to reach number one. Later on in 2010 Billy released this fourth studio album Enjoy Yourself in which the first single off the ablum, "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer", reached the number one spot on the charts. The album's second single "Let Me Down Easy" went to radio in 2010 and reached number 1 in 2011. The album's third single "Love Done Gone" reached the number 11 spot later that year. The album's fourth single "Like My Dog" peaked at number 24 in 2012. Billy's fifth studio album, We Are Tonight, was released 2013. The album's first single, "Hey Girl", peaked at number 1 on the Country Airplay chart in October 2013. The album's second single, the title track, peaked at number one on the Country Airplay chart in August 2014. Billy released a new single, the first from his sixth studio album Summer Forever, in late October 2014, titled "Don't It." The single reached number 1 on the Country Airplay chart dated June 6, 2015, becoming his 9th number one country single, and his third consecutive. The album's second single, "Drinkin' Town with a Football Problem", peaked at number 30 on the charts. The album's third, and current single, "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To", has now become Billy's 10th number 1! AND Billy is on tour RIGHT NOW! Y'all go see him! In my eyes Billy Currington is a guy that has overcame a lot of things, but still continues to grow into a better person and artist. His latest album, Summer Forever, has been one of my favorite albums to listen to this year. The album has a mixture of upbeat songs to those slowed down songs you like to listen to on a rainy afternoon. Billy even has a duet with Jessie James Decker titled "Good Night", and I LOVE IT. Their voices, just vibe so well together. Billy just has one of those reconcilable voices, because it's so memorizing and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty sexy too. This is Billy Currington, he deserves more credit with his music than he receives, but that's just my opinion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow Billy on his verified social media: Twitter: @BillyCurrington Facebook: Billy Currington Instagram: Billy Currington (@bccoconutman) Website: BillyCurrington.com YouTube: Billy Currington

Cody Johnson began singing and playing guitar when he was twelve years old. In 2006, he formed the Cody Johnson Band. They recorded their album, Black and White Label. In 2007, recorded a live album, Live and Rocking, at Shenanigans and Confetti's Club in Huntsville. Following the release of the album. Their first professionally produced album, Six Strings One Dream, was released in September 2009. Three singles from the album reached the Top 10 of the Texas Music Charts. Johnson's next album, A Different Day, was released in 2011 and produced by country music singer Trent Willmon. After that Cody won the 2011 Texas Regional Music Award for New Male Vocalist of the Year. After the win he left his day job with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to focus on music full-time. He teamed with Kyle Park in 2012 for the Dancin' and Drinkin' at Johnson Park Tour. fifth album, Cowboy Like Me, was released on January 14, 2014, also produced by Trent Willmon. Cowboys Like Me sold 8,000 copies in its first week of release, debuting at number 7 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and number 33 on the Billboard 200 Chart. Cody now has a new album tited Gotta Be Me. With this album he worked with some of Nashville’s best songwriters including David Lee, Terry McBride, and Dan Couch while drawing on his own history, in its own compelling subject matter. On Cody's website, when talking about the new album, he says "“Every Scar” draws a life lesson from all those rodeo bruises and broken bones. “Half A Song” blends his barroom experiences with the melodic and rhythmic sensibilities he picked up at his daddy’s feet. The fiddle-rich “Wild As You” embraces a freedom-loving woman whose sense of adventure is as deep as [his] own. And that spacious gospel closer, featuring his parents on harmony, surrenders some of the rabble-rousing, adrenaline-raising pieces of his past into bigger spiritual hands." Cody is now traveling all over the states performing at a variety of places. So I would suggest if he comes to your town, you go and see him! When I listened to him for the first time I thought "Finally! I found another Justin Moore!" Because he doesn't only have that recognizable voice, but he has that traditional country sound! I don't know any other way to describe him all together than "country." Below I have Cody's verified social media and YouTube link to my favorite song of his "Wild As You." Go check him out! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twitter: CodyJohnsonBand Facebook: Cody Johnson Band Instagram: Cody Johnson Band YouTube: Cody Johnson Website: www.thecodyjohnsonband.com |
